Vol. 285: Day Use Lockers for Science Labs

Keeping personal belongings secure and away from fragile equipment

The design team for a state university’s new science building put a lot of thought into the labs, classrooms, and other areas. Unfortunately, though, they didn’t think about storage for personal belongings.

The lack of personal storage became an issue as soon as the labs opened, because food, drink, backpacks, bags, and personal electronic devices were prohibited in the labs. As a result, students had to pile their items in the corridor outside the labs’ entrances.

To get personal belongings up off the floor, Spacesaver created Day Use Lockers with keypad locks with an integrated handle, and the design team chose high-pressure laminate (HPL) doors in the university’s colors to create a dramatic accent in the corridor.Help your clients learn more:
