This week’s edition of the Trailblazer focuses on the Safety Locker.
The Safety Locker, a special FreeStyle Locker, was an engineered-to-order (ETO) product produced to fit a niche within the Public Safety and Education markets. This project isn’t just uniquely an engineered product, but it also has a very resourceful sales application.
THE CHALLENGE:
The La Crosse, WI PD needed a solution to discreetly and securely store an assault rifle for Liaison Officers in a school setting. The assault rifle not only needed to be safely locked in storage, but it needed to be quickly accessible. The solution has needed to have the ability to store temporary items.
THE SOLUTION:
FreeStyle Locker configured to have a lower cabinet large enough for long rifle storage, and two small upper compartments. A Digilock was put on the large cabinet and Combination Locks on the other two compartments.
THE BENEFITS:
The FreeStyle Locker format doesn’t give it a gun cabinet look, allowing School Liaison Officers to keep a rifle on site for emergencies. Rifles can be a crucial safety measure because they provide better accuracy and capacity than an Officer’s handgun. The Digilock provides safety and fast, convenient access for Liaison Officers.

School Liaison Officers, Courthouse buildings, airports, and hospitals staffed by sheriff departments.
