Bringing A Vibrant Aesthetic to A New High School

“Can I make it to my locker and back between class?” This is a question most high school students have had to ask themselves on an almost daily basis. Be it for a personal belonging, a misplaced assignment, or a textbook (which are still used), depending on where their locker falls within the school, even the student athletes on the track team would have a tough time coming in under the wire.

Knowing their more than 650-person student body has a lot of stuff to store, administrators at New Fairfield High School in Connecticut sought out a provider who could offer an easier and more accessible way for housing valuable materials closer to the point of use in their newly constructed facility. Upon gaining a full understanding of the school’s current and future needs, our local Spacesaver representative at Donnegan Systems delivered a network of 292 functional and secure storage Day Use Lockers throughout the building – with each bank of lockers having their own distinct and meticulously planned color combination.

Transforming Mezzanine Storage On Multiple Levels

No matter which industry they operate in, every inch of your client’s space is valuable. One area of footprint that is often underutilized is the mezzanine area. Often the landing spot for items long forgotten, with the right partner and plan in place, the mezzanine can take an organization’s storage capacity to new heights.

Such was the case for the Idaho National Guard, looking to turn its mezzanine’s footprint from a pipe-filled dream to an efficiently laid out storage reality. Knowing they’d need reinforcements; they reached out to their local Spacesaver rep at Spacesaver Intermountain.

Upon assessing the space and understanding their storage needs, the rep was able to outfit the footprint with a series of lockers, varying in heights to account for the multiple obstructions that the space presented. The result was a measurable increase in secure storage capacity for gear and the dedicated individuals who utilize it, neatly fit among the platform’s pipes.

Providing An Electric Advancement To Evidence Collection And Storage

Pretty much everyone has a smart phone or tablet these days, including suspected criminals. As such, police departments are finding an increasing need for evidence storage lockers that offer the ability to keep offenders’ phones charged up and ready for processing in the same state they were delivered.

Experiencing this exact issue, the Waukesha Police Department reached out to their local Spacesaver consultant for support in securely storing and maintaining portable electronic devices and the information they contain in the exact state they were delivered. Working with Spacesaver’s in-house engineering and design teams, they were able to offer the department a bank of evidence lockers that featured USB ports for in-locker charging – allowing officers to keep a suspect’s portable electronic device (or in some cases, devices) safe, secure, and undeterred until the technician is ready to process it.

A New Use For A Trusted Safety Storage Solution

A hospital in Montreal was looking for help delivering medication to patients at all hours of the day, even when the pharmacist isn’t on-site. Reaching out to their local Spacesaver representative for a storage solution that could fill in to fill prescriptions when their pharmacists were out of office, the hospital was outfitted with a custom system that delivers health and safety for patients, staff, and administrators.

Protecting and storing valuable study aids

When the anatomy department at this college of podiatry was relocated to a new, smaller space in the building, the professors needed to optimize storage of their collection of study aids, which includes delicate and expensive human bones.The new space was about 30% smaller. Realizing they needed professional help to make the best use of the space, they contacted their nearby Spacesaver consultant for assistance.

He assessed the collection of bones and other study aids and designed locking Spacesaver 4-Post “cabinets” for two separate areas in the department.

Keeping small items organized and optimizing vertical space

Spacesaver provided storage solutions throughout the new Ingenium Centre, which showcases artifacts that comprise Canada’s science and technology collection. The facility’s design team needed to optimize space and ensure that collections would be protected and accessible.

The planning team found that one of the most efficient solutions was using Spacesaver’s Nantucket Trays and Drawers on 4-Post Shelving and extra-wide trays on RaptorRAC Widespan Shelving. The units were mounted on high-density mobile systems to save even more space.
