Keeping police uniforms and equipment organized Police departments need to keep a variety of items on hand for issuing to officers and staff, including badges, safety vests, and other gear. The Halton Regional Police Quarterstores Services, located on the outskirts of Toronto, was moving into a new police facility and needed a configurable storage system. After meeting with the project’s planning team, the local Spacesaver consultant designed a solution that included multiple LEVPRO suspended shelving units. The result is a modular, rail-less system that makes it easy to add units or relocate them when necessary. |

Vol. 212: Showcasing local history
Flat-file cabinets promote visibility and flexibility in a public libraryThe “Calgary’s Story” area in the new Calgary Central Library showcases materials from the library’s local history collection. Visitors to Calgary’s Story can research their family history, learn about the city’s beginnings, share their own stories, or talk to an Indigenous Elder. Flat-file cabinets with display tops provide an accessible, flexible way for the library to store and display maps and other documents. |

Vol. 211: Preserving evidence of the Holocaust
Preserving evidence of the Holocaust Compact shelving in cold storageThe Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. built an off-site facility to preserve its growing collections. The new facility included cold storage for photos, film, and other chemically reactive materials. Maintaining temperature and humidity levels in cold storage is expensive, so the project designers wanted to store as many materials as possible in the smallest amount of space. They worked with the local Spacesaver consultant to design compact storage systems to keep collections organized and accessible while also eliminating wasted space and improving energy efficiency. Vol. 207: CUSTOM ATHLETIC LOCKERS
A secure, durable option for sports programsA Wisconsin high school needed to renovate its locker room to create a more secure and organized space for student athletes. The school’s “budget” lockers were damaged to the point that they were no longer secure, and school officials were dealing with theft complaints at least once a week. The school wanted to invest in more durable lockers so coaches could focus on developing athletes rather than investigating thefts — but they had a tight budget. |

NOTE to SALES REPS: These custom lockers included ETO upgrades to Spacesaver’s Rival Locker (upgrades included double-walled doors, recessed hasps and handles, and louvers). Vol. 206: UNIFORM AND SUPPLY STORAGE
Helping a high school’s JROTC youth development programThe JROTC is the U.S. Department of Defense’s largest youth development program, with more than 300,000 cadets enrolled in approximately 1,700 high schools throughout the United States. Each cadet needs supplies, equipment, and uniforms, and these items must be kept clean and organized to prevent loss or damage. Like many schools, the Virginia high school pictured here didn’t have enough storage space to accommodate all these items. Gear was stored in several different areas and it took a long time for instructors and cadets to find what they needed. See how Spacesaver helped the program save time, save space, and improve organization. |

Vol. 205: MOVABLE ALTAR
Vol. 204: FLEXIBLE SOLUTIONS FOR COLLECTIONS
Helping a museum save time, money, and natural resourcesThe construction of a new addition provided a large natural history museum with the opportunity to upgrade shelving for its ichthyology collection. The collection would need to be housed in a temporary location during the lengthy renovation and construction project. This posed a challenge: the temporary location had tall ceilings, but the permanent location would have lower ceilings and would be fitted with high-density carriages. Museum staff worked with the local Spacesaver consultant to design a shelving solution that would meet the needs of the collection and also overcome the project’s logistical challenges. See how Spacesaver helped the client save time, money, and natural resources. |
