Vol 108: EXTRA-WIDE 4-POST ON WHEELHOUSE

As we announced earlier this week, Spacesaver’s wider 4-Post shelving provides new options for storing large or bulky items. Available in spans up to 72 inches between uprights, this solution is ideal for storing large items that don’t require the high-capacity rating of RaptorRAC® Widespan Shelving. Clients can save even more space by installing wider 4-Post shelving on a Wheelhouse® Modular Mobile Storage System, ActivRAC®Mobilized Storage System, or a standard Spacesaver mobile system.

Spacesaver products, including our steel shelving fitted with frame doors, can be designed and manufactured to exact specifications.

After an extensive design and prototyping process, staff at this prominent museum decided to install 109”-tall perforated shelving units fitted with locking perforated doors. The perforations maintain security while still allowing air to circulate inside the cabinets, and mobile carriages allowed the client to save space.

Vol. 106: ETO Library Browsing Bins

dekalbfornjpa-2The children’s area of the DeKalb Public Library in DeKalb, IL, was completely redesigned as part of a $25.3 million renovation and expansion project. Library staff advocated strongly for browsing bins in the children’s area that would allow children to see the books’ cover art. “We know that spine-out storage is convenient for parents and librarians, but it’s not ideal for kids,” said Library Director Dee Coover. “They need to see the book covers to determine their own selections.”

The new children’s area features row upon row of child-height browsing bins on Spacesaver’s cantilever frames. The library got the best possible pricing on this high-quality product by purchasing it on the NJPA contract.
